Install on your phone

Snippath works in any modern browser, but it's designed for phones. Installing it to your home screen gives you a full-screen app, faster launches, and (with permission) push notifications.

iPhone & iPad

Option A: Native app (coming soon)

We're submitting the Snippath iOS app to the App Store. Once it's approved, the link will live here and on the Get Started page. Until then, use the PWA install below — it has the same core experience.

Option B: PWA (today)

  1. Open Safari (the PWA install only works in Safari, not Chrome/Firefox on iOS — Apple restricts it).
  2. Go to snippath.com (or your workspace URL).
  3. Tap the Share button in the toolbar (the square with the up arrow).
  4. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap View More if you don't see "Add to Home Screen" right away.
  5. Tap Add to Home Screen.
  6. Confirm the name and tap Add.

Snippath now lives on your home screen. Opening it launches the app full-screen (no Safari address bar, full-height usable area).

Enabling push on iOS

After installing, open Snippath from the home screen → sign in → Settings → Push notifications → Enable. Allow when iOS prompts. Push only works for app launched from the home screen — not for Safari tabs. See Notifications.

Android

Android Chrome shows an install prompt automatically the first time you visit (look for the "Install" button in the bottom banner). If you dismiss it, you can install at any time:

  1. Open Chrome and go to snippath.com (or your workspace URL).
  2. Tap the menu ( in the top right) → Install app (some Chrome versions call it Add to Home screen).
  3. Confirm.

Other Android browsers (Firefox, Edge) also support installation — check the browser menu for "Install" or "Add to Home screen".

Enabling push on Android

Open Snippath from the home screen → sign in → Settings → Push notifications → Enable.

Desktop

Chrome, Edge, and Brave on desktop also support PWA installation: look for the install icon in the address bar (a monitor with a down-arrow). The desktop PWA opens in its own window without browser chrome. Useful for shop/office computers running Snippath all day.

Updating

PWAs auto-update on launch — every time you open Snippath from the home screen, you get the latest version. No app-store updates to wait for.

Uninstalling

  • iOS — long-press the Snippath icon on your home screen → Remove AppDelete from Home Screen.
  • Android — long-press the icon → Uninstall.
  • Desktop Chrome — in the PWA window, click the menu → Uninstall Snippath.

Troubleshooting

The install option doesn't appear on iOS

  • Make sure you're in Safari, not Chrome/Firefox on iOS.
  • Sometimes "Add to Home Screen" is hidden behind "View More" — scroll down in the share sheet.

The icon on my home screen is a blue square with an S

That's iOS's placeholder when it can't load the configured icon. Delete the home-screen icon and re-add via the install steps above; iOS will fetch the current icon fresh.

Push notifications aren't arriving

Confirm you opened Snippath from the home-screen icon (not a Safari tab) and that you allowed notifications when prompted. iOS Settings → Snippath → Notifications has the on/off toggle if you need to re-enable later.
