Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Snippath ("we", "us") provides maintenance management software. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and the rights you have over your data. We deliberately keep this short. If anything is unclear, email support@snippath.com and we'll answer.

What we collect

Account information. When you create a workspace or are invited as a user, we collect your full name, email address, username, and a bcrypt hash of your password. We never store your raw password.

Workspace data. Everything you and your team enter into Snippath — issues, photos, asset records, locations, parts inventory, checklists, comments, work logs.

Public report submissions. When someone files a ticket through your workspace's public report form, we store the report text, any photos attached, and the contact details they choose to include.

Payment information. Handled by Stripe, not us. We store the Stripe customer ID and subscription state so we know which plan your workspace is on. We never see or store card numbers.

Technical data. IP address (for rate limiting and abuse prevention), browser type, session cookie, and basic request logs. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • Provide the maintenance management features you signed up for.
  • Authenticate you and keep your session active.
  • Send transactional emails (password resets, billing receipts, support replies).
  • Bill you and process payments via Stripe.
  • Diagnose bugs and improve the product.
  • Prevent abuse (rate limiting public forms, blocking spam).

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers. We do not use your workspace data to train AI models.

Who we share data with

Only the third-party services we depend on to run Snippath:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Resend — sends our transactional emails (password reset, support).
  • DigitalOcean — hosts our servers and database backups, in the United States (San Francisco region).
  • Cloudflare — DNS and email routing for our domain.

Each of these is bound by their own privacy obligations. We'll share your data with law enforcement only when compelled by valid legal process.

Where your data lives

All workspace data is stored in PostgreSQL on a DigitalOcean server located in San Francisco, USA. Database backups are stored in DigitalOcean Spaces in the same region. We do not transfer your data outside the United States.

How long we keep it

While your workspace is active, we keep your data indefinitely. You own it.

If you delete your workspace, we remove all workspace data within 30 days. Backup snapshots that include the deleted workspace are purged on their normal 30-day retention schedule.

Your rights

You can:

  • Export your workspace data on request (we'll provide a JSON dump).
  • Delete your account and workspace at any time.
  • Update your personal information from the Settings page.
  • Opt out of non-essential emails — though all of our emails today are transactional (we don't send marketing).

To exercise any of these rights, email support@snippath.com from the address on your account.

Cookies

We use exactly one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics.

Children

Snippath is intended for use by businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify workspace admins by email if the change is material. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
